Miriam

At 16 1/2, Miriam -- no longer our baby! -- is healthy, vibrant, intelligent, beautiful, and mostly happy, but no longer the cherubic innocent child that most of you remember. But even her parents have to admit that she looks good in dreadlocks.

In recent years, Miriam has been taking classes at the local community college in lieu of high school. Her passion, and the subject of her most focused efforts, is photography. In fact, although she strongly prefers analog photography, she's good enough with PhotoShop that she removed our double-chins from the unretouched original of our family portrait.

Overall, Miriam seems to be growing up into a wonderfully compassionate and caring human being.
